Stacey on Making of Fact News

On February 15, 2019, Megan Stacey, the London city hall reporter for the London Free Press, gave a talk, entitled “The Making of the Fact News: In an Era of Distrust and Misinformation” as part of the “Guest Speaker Series on Misinformation, Disinformation” in FIMS9328 Graduate Course at Western University.

Megan Stacey is the city hall reporter for the London Free Press. She’s been with the paper since 2017 and with Postmedia Network since 2015. Before joining The Free Press she reported for smaller daily newspapers in Woodstock and Stratford, covering such national stories as an avian flu outbreak, youth suicide crisis and the case of healthcare serial killer Elizabeth Wettlaufer, winning an Ontario Newspaper Award in the process. Stacey graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University and has also spent time working for non-profit organizations in Uganda and Ethiopia.
