OLA Online Conference Invites FIMS Grad Students to Showcase Their Case Studies on Manipulative Deceptive Behaviours

Digital Odyssey “Tackling Misinformation and Disinformation: Innovations & Challenges” is an online event organized by the Ontario Library Association (OLA) and planned by OLITA Council, according to their website.)

Dr. Rubin’s Winter 2024 course (on Misinformation & Viral Deception (FIMS9328) originally presented their case studies in their end-of-course poster session, themed: ‘Lies and Scams and Myths. Oh My!’ Pulling Back the Curtain on Manipulative Deceptive Behaviours: Case Studies and Preventative Strategies.” One of the OLA directors, who organized the Digital Odyssey event, also attended our poster session. She then extended the invitation to the entire class to to apply to show-case their work at her upcoming digital conference. Five students’ works were accepted and will be presented at the Event. Congratulations to those students whose works were accepted!
