Sarah Cornwell is a Connected Minds Postdoctoral Fellow at York University, on the project Constructing Multilingual Information Repositories with Indigenous Data Sovereignty. Sarah completed her Ph.D. in the Library and Information Science program at the University of Western Ontario in 2025. Her doctoral thesis is entitled The Information-Seeking Practices of Established Active Multilinguals in London, Ontario. Sarah’s research focusses on Canadian multilinguals’ information practice and the impact of non-English language selection in emerging information technologies. She completed her Master’s in Linguistics, also at the University of Western Ontario, in 2016. Sarah’s Master’s work investigated L2 English variation in Dutch speakers in Canada. Her previous research with Prof. Victoria L. Rubin’s Language and Information Technology Research Lab (LiT.RL) included work on technological wellbeing, text analytics, and mis/disinformation in the context of news consumption and advertising.
