Yimin is a 2022 PhD Graduate who was supervised by Dr. Rubin in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario. Driven by a long standing fascination with the internet and its communities, cultures, and quirks, his current research revolves around internet trolls and trolling.

Yimin has collaborated with Dr. Rubin on many publications including a survey on the use of chatbots, or artificial intelligence agents, in libraries and other case scenarios. He joined the LiT.RL team in December 2009. His contributions are primarily analytical and conceptual working on various phenomena including deception and information manipulation. Most recently, he has been untangling the concept of “clickbait” and news satire as potentially misleading information provision techniques.
